Another busy day for you as your company's top sales rep -- meeting after meeting after sales call wrapped around a couple of networking meeting and a power lunch.
If you were very organized you made quick notes on your calendar or notepad in the parking lot before heading out to the next meeting.  On the very busy days, we are finally getting around to jotting down those important notes and follow-ups after we get back to the office in the evening.  Luckily, there is an easier way.

Enter Jott.com    A friend of mine introduced me to Jott at a conference a couple of years ago and I have been an enthusiastic and frequent user ever since.  Here's how it works.

As soon as I leave a meeting or suddenly remember something that needs to be taken care of I call up Jott.  The one tool I always have with me is my Blackberry and I go immediately to 'J' on the speed dial.  Those of you who are using voice activation and simply say "Call Jott".  The conversation goes like this:

Jott:  Jott who?

You:  Myself

Jott:  Go Ahead 

You:  Just left meeting with Janet at ABC company.  They are interested in ordering 16 of the new model X-42 card processing modules we get from ProTech.  Janet needs them for their new store by next Friday and she has to have them branded with their new logo.  Make sure that we have their current logo available.  Have Brad follow-up with her tomorrow. 

You: Hang up

Jott will now take the message, convert it to text, and send it to your e-mail address. It will also provide a link to the original audio.    When you get back in the office, you have all of your call notes already typed up for you.   If you use ACT! (or another CRM product) like I do, it is a snap to copy the Jott message and paste it into my call notes as I clear our my daily activities on my calendar.  I can even attach the audio file to the contact record if I want.
